Go to Definition

With Go to Definition functionality it is extremely easy to move to the definition of classes, enums, interfaces, their members or local variables, wherever they were declared.

When you want to take a look at the item declaration, you can do it in three different ways:

  • right-click on any item in a code and select Go to Definition from its context menu:

Go to Definition from the context menu

  • press the Cmd+D hotkey when the caret is in the item bounds.

The Welkin Suite will analyze all the project's files if the selected item was declared in any of them, and then navigate to this item. If you try to see definition of the item that is not a part of your project, it's a system class / method / etc., it's a part of an object, or it is a trigger, then the Go to Definition option won't show anything.
