Deploy objects

The Deploy objects feature gives you the ability to implement the changes in your objects and non-code metadata types to an org directly from The Welkin Suite. Fill your objects with hundreds of fields by spending only 15 minutes of your time without switching from your IDE.

This feature is quite similar to the Build functionality, the one difference is the list of project metadata components, that can de used:

  • objects,
  • labels,
  • layouts,
  • permission sets,
  • profiles,
  • workflows,
  • email templates,
  • reports,
  • dasboards,
  • custom tabs,
  • letterheads,
  • report types,
  • visual flows.

The process of deployment objects

After you've changed the files that you need to have updated and have saved these changes locally, to move the changes to an org you need to call the Deploy objects function. This can be done in two ways:

Deploy Objects from the context menu of the Solution Explorer

  • navigate to the Main Menu: Build ⇒ Deploy Objects.

Deploy Objects from the Main menu

The Welkin Suite shows the notification message about starting the deployment process.

Deploy Objects

In the status bar, at the bottom of the IDE window, you can also see the message that the deployment process has begun. Here you can track the progress and the result of deployment.

The status 'Deploying objects to Salesforce'

This notification message will get changed after the deployment is done. In case, any errors appear, you will receive the message 'Objects deployment has failed!'. Deployment errors are displayed in the Error List panel.

Objects deployment has failed

The same message you can see in the status bar.

The status 'Objects deployment has failed!'

If deployment is successful, you will get the message 'Objects deployment succeeded!'. It is displayed only in the status bar of the IDE.
